This Privacy Policy explains what information ScorelineQuiz ("we", "us", the "App") collects, why, and what rights you have. ScorelineQuiz is a single-player football trivia game.

Who we are

ScorelineQuiz is the data controller responsible for your information. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@scorelinequiz.com.

What we collect and why

We follow data minimization — we collect only what the game needs to work.

We do not collect your real name, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location.

No tracking by us. The App contains no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind — we do not follow you across apps, and nothing in the App reports what you do to anyone but our own server. The only advertising data involved is what Google AdMob needs to show the three ad formats described under "Advertising" below, and in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you decide for yourself whether that may be used to personalize ads. No ad ever interrupts a question or covers the game while you are playing a round.

Signing in is optional. The App works fully without it. Your nickname and device identifier remain how the game identifies you; signing in only adds a way to recover your progress if you change device or reinstall.

How we use your information

To provide and operate the game (progress, scores, leaderboard, streaks, hints).
To grant and restore purchases.
To send notifications you have opted into.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
To comply with legal obligations (e.g. keeping transaction records).

We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers ("processors") who process data on our behalf under data-processing agreements:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting and database.
Google (Sign-In) (only if you sign in) — verifies who you are so we can restore your progress.
Google Play / Apple App Store — payment processing and purchase restoration. Purchases are tied to your store account, not to us.
RevenueCat (when purchases are enabled) — manages in-app purchases and entitlements.
Google AdMob — serves the banner, the full-screen ad between categories, and the optional rewarded ads, and provides the consent form shown where one is required.
Expo / your device OS — delivers push notifications you opt into.

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. Google's advertising policies are at <https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads>.

Advertising

The App shows three kinds of ad:

A banner — a small strip along the bottom of the game screens (the question, the result and the end-of-round screen). It is part of the layout: it never covers the game, and it is not shown on the profile, leaderboard, progress or about screens.
A full-screen ad between categories — shown once after you complete a category, after the completion screen and before the next category begins. It never appears during a round, never between questions, and never after a round you did not pass.
Rewarded ads — entirely optional. You are never shown one unless you choose to watch it in exchange for something (extra hints, or more questions once you reach the daily limit).

There are no ads between questions and no ad ever interrupts a question. We ask Google to limit ads to those rated suitable for a teen audience or below, matching the 16+ audience this App is aimed at. The App is not directed to children.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. Serving one involves an advertising identifier provided by your device.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google's consent form appears before any ad is shown. There you choose whether your data may be used to personalize advertising, and you can review each purpose and each ad partner individually. Your answer is your decision alone — refusing does not remove ads, restrict the game, or cost you anything: ads are simply chosen without profiling you.

You can change or withdraw that decision at any time in the App under Preferences → Ad privacy settings, which reopens the same form. Independently of it, you can reset your advertising identifier, or opt out of ad personalization for every app at once, in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

Outside those countries no consent form is shown and ads may be personalized, which is the ordinary standard in those markets.

We record which rewarded ads you completed, so that a reward is granted once and cannot be claimed twice. That record is deleted with your account.

International transfers

Our providers may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep your data

Gameplay/profile data: kept while your account is active. Accounts that have not been linked to a Google account are automatically deleted after 60 days of inactivity.
Signed-in accounts: if you sign in with Google, we keep your account (including your email address) for 2 years of inactivity instead of 60 days — signing in is a promise that your progress will still be there when you come back. After 2 years of not playing, it is deleted too. You can disconnect Google at any time from Account → Disconnect Google, which keeps your progress but returns you to the 60-day window.
Purchase records: retained for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, even after account deletion (de-identified where possible).
You can delete your data at any time (see below).

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA (or UK), you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Rectify inaccurate data.
Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
Restrict or object to certain processing.
Data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. notifications, personalized ads).
Complain to your local data protection authority.

How to exercise them: Use the in-app Delete account option to erase your progress and identity, or contact us at hello@scorelinequiz.com. Deleting your account removes your gameplay data and account identity. Note that purchases are tied to your Google/Apple store account and can be restored by you there; certain transaction records may be retained (de-identified) to meet legal obligations.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete everything we hold about you at any time, without contacting us:

In the App: open your profile (gear icon), tap Account, then Delete Account and confirm.

This immediately and permanently erases your nickname and device identity, your scores and guesses, your streaks, achievements, completed categories, and any unlocked content. It cannot be undone, and the deletion is final rather than a deactivation.

If you cannot access the App — for example you have already uninstalled it — email hello@scorelinequiz.com with the nickname you played under and we will delete the associated data for you.

What we keep: purchase records may be retained (de-identified where possible) where tax or accounting law requires it. Purchases themselves are held by Google Play or the App Store against your store account, not by us, and can be restored by you there.

Children

ScorelineQuiz is not directed at children under the age required for digital consent in your country (13–16 depending on jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and personalized advertising is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and restricted database access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take appropriate steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notified in the App.
